DESCRIPTION

My robot, it consists of several components that are broken up into two categories. The first is the rolling chassis, the base frame itself is made from polycarbonate clear sheeting and was cut in a Boxford CNC  machine. The gearbox and wheels were purchased form “Jay Car” electronics and were assembled from a flat pack. The front caster was a simple swivel caster wheel purchased from”two dollar shop”, It is a general purpose caster that could easily be used for many applications.

The remaining is the hardware components; this is the brains of the robot and enables it to negotiate the maze. The sensors used were infrared emitter and  receivers, they are wired back to the “Picaxe micro processor” (the brain) that interprets the signals received by the sensors. Finally the last components you can see are the battery packs. These units supplied power to both the ”Picaxe” and the driver motors.
